Vision Science Visit Days

Prospective students visited our campus March 3 – 4.

Earlier this week, we hosted 17 prospective students (16 in-person and 1 virtually) for Vision Science Visit Days – a two-day recruitment event for PhD program applicants, who get the chance to meet current VS students and faculty as they present and discuss new and exciting findings in the fields of optometry, visual perception, neuroscience, and myopia.

Sessions included community building, lab tours, lightning talks given by faculty, a happy hour, a student panel, and more. Candidates traveled from New York, South Carolina, and all over California to visit the Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry & Vision Science. The event was organized by Assistant Director of Vision Science & Residency Programs, Alex Marquez and Associate Director of Admissions, Ardi Samonte, with support from the Admissions and Student Affairs Office (ASAO). We look forward to welcoming the new class of VS students in Fall 2025!
