Dr. Feller Elected to the National Academy of Sciences

We are happy to announce that Dr. Marla Feller is one of seven UC Berkeley professors to be elected to the National Academy of Sciences (NAS)! The NAS is a private, nonprofit institution which recognizes scientists and their distinguished and continuing achievements in their original research. The NAS elected 120 new national and 23 international members this year, including Dr. Feller. Among the current 2,400 members, 156 are from UC Berkeley.
"Feller, a professor of molecular and cell biology, studies the development and functional organization of neural circuits in the eye’s retina. She has made significant discoveries regarding the mechanisms and developmental roles of activity waves, gap junctions and motion detection in the retina." – UC Berkeley News
Dr. Feller is a Professor of Vision Science at UC Berkeley, as well as a Paul Licht Distinguished Professor in Biological Sciences, and Professor of Neurobiology. She is associated with the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute, Molecular & Cell Biology and the Biophysics Graduate Program at UC Berkeley. Congrats, Dr. Feller!
