By Liza Shevchuk
Berkeley Vision Science student Charlotte Yiyi Wang, OD, FAAO, has been selected as a 2022 American Academy of Optometry (AAO) Centennial Ezell Fellow, for the second year in a row! Named for founding American Academy of Optometry Foundation (AAOF) president, William C. Ezell, OD, the Ezell Fellowship program was established in 1949 to provide support to graduate students enrolled in a full-time program of study and training in vision-related research, which leads to a Master’s or PhD degree.
This year’s recipients will receive $8,000 for the year-long fellowship. They will also be awarded two travel grants of $750 to attend the Academy’s annual meeting and the Association for Research and Vision in Ophthalmology (ARVO) meeting. Funding for these Fellowships is provided by leading optometric companies, private endowments, and other business organizations representing most sectors of the industry.
This year’s Ezell Fellows will be honored during Academy 2022 San Diego, which will take place on October 26th - 29th, 2022.
