Dr. Tsao Awarded Kavli Prize in Neuroscience

For the discovery of a highly localized and specialized system for representation of faces in human and non-human primate neocortex.

We are very proud to announce that vision science Professor Doris Tsao has been selected as a recipient of the 2024 Kavli Prize in Neuroscience, a $1M award! Dr. Tsao was awarded the prize by The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters "for the discovery of a highly localized and specialized system for representation of faces in human and non-human primate neocortex."

Dr. Tsao is a professor in the Neurobiology Division of the Department of Molecular & Cell Biology, the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute, and the Vision Science Group at the Hebert Wertheim School of Optometry & Vision Science.
