Visual Perceptual Experience

WHERE I'M FROM

I’m from Mamaroneck, NY.

BEFORE VS

I studied Cognitive Sciences with a focus on Neurobiology and Perception with a dual degree in Art History at the University of Rochester. During this time, I was investigating cerebrovascular and neurocognitive research with Dr. Giovanni Schifitto, as well as psychophysics research surrounding motion perception in humans and Marmoset monkeys under the mentorship of Dr. Jude Mitchell. After graduating, I conducted a Fulbright research fellowship in Vienna, Austria studying the physiological correlates of emotions in the Empirical Visual Aesthetics lab with Dr. Helmut Leder.

WHY I’M HERE

Berkeley’s program in Vision Science is especially exciting to me because of its emphasis on interdisciplinary research approaches to facets of the visual system, branching from a cellular level towards cortical regions impacting perception. I’m here to continue my passion for neurocognitive research and move further towards translational work.

MY RESEARCH

I am interested in exploring and quantifying neural systems that relay to visual perceptual experience using new techniques in neurocircuitry and machine models.

MY GOALS

My goal is to improve my understanding of visual systems and degenerative diseases while building skills that contribute to improved scientific practices.

MY HOBBIES

When not in the lab, you can find me in the gym, reading, listening to music, or traveling!
