Eye Size and Peripheral Retinal Pathology Its relationship to body height and sporting activity

WHO we need: • TALL individuals (roughly, MALES over 5’9’’ or FEMALES over 5’6’’)

• Have LOW to NO near-sightedness or far-sightedness (you don’t wear glasses/contact lenses or don’t need to wear them at all times)

• Have NOT participated on a contact sports team in college **These include: football, rugby, water polo, basketball, soccer, volleyball, softball, baseball, and field hockey

WHAT study entails: Suitable participants will need to be available for one session, approximately one hour long. Suitability will be determined immediately prior to the session through a screening form. We will then measure your height, weight, IOP, refractive errors, corneal curvature, eye length and examine the back of your eye for any retinal pathologies.

WHEN and WHERE study will occur: We will contact participants to arrange convenient times (flexible to your schedule). Measurements will be taken in the laboratory of Dr. Christine Wildsoet, located at 588 Minor Hall, UC Berkeley School of Optometry.

WHY participate? You will be given the opportunity to learn about your own ocular anatomy, any pathologies, refractive errors, AND earn $10.00 for the completed session.
