Vision Science Fall Retreat

On Friday, September 29th, 60 students, postdocs, faculty, and staff from the Vision Science community attended the annual fall retreat at Hotel Paradox in Santa Cruz, where they gathered for seminars on current VS research. The retreat also provided the opportunity to have fun! The group engaged in team building activities, social events, and trips to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk.
Students and postdocs also had the opportunity to present their research. Hannah Doyle (3rd year PhD student, Roorda lab) and Taishi Painter (1st year PhD student, Gong lab) won the Lightning Talk competition, while Charlotte Wang (4th year PhD student, Tuten/Roorda lab) and Laura Patak (2nd year PhD student, Puthussery lab) won the Short Platform Presentation round. Leah Johnston was also presented with the Outstanding GSI award for 2022. A huge congratulations to these students and everyone that participated!
