2024 ARVO Travel Grant Awardee

Berkeley undergraduate student and Gronert Lab member, Maggie Lin, was awarded the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology's travel grant this year. She also won the best poster award at Bay Area Vision Research Day in 2023. Maggie completed her Honors Thesis on Morphological Characterization of Microglia During Ocular Hypertension Insult and graduated in Fall 2023 with a BS in Molecular & Cell Biology as well as Computer Science.

Maggie was accepted into the very competitive Post-baccalaureate Intramural Research Program at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She is presenting her thesis research at ARVO and her abstract was selected for a talk in the Neuroinflammation-2 session where she will be the only undergraduate that presents a talk. She is also a co-author on a recently submitted manuscript that incudes some data from her Honors Thesis. Well done, Maggie!
