OCT (Optical
Coherence Tomography)
Located
in room 599J of Minor Hall
This OCT system was designed and made by the Institute
of Applied Physics Ras in Russia for use in animal-based
research. It can image both anterior and posterior ocular
structures including the cornea, retina, and optic nerve.
The transverse resolution offered is <10 mm and in
depth resolution is also <10 mm. The combination of
high resolution and good penetration offered by this instrument
reflects the use of a 850 nm (infrared) superluminescent
diode as the light source.
