Title

Image Forensics

Abstract

Just days after her selection as the Republican Vice Presidential candidate, a doctored photo of a bikini-clad, gun-toting Sarah Palin was widely distributed across the Internet. This photo added to a long list of photo trickery. As the technology for manipulating images has developed at break-neck speeds, our ability to detect doctored photos has become increasingly more difficult. I will describe computational techniques which we have developed for detecting photo tampering. These techniques leverage various advances in computer vision, optics, computer graphics, and image processing.
