Gifts and Development

Each year, the Vision Science group provides funding for talented student researchers. Most candidates are provided with full tuition, an annual stipend, and conference travel grants. In addition to grants provided by the National Institutes of Health and the University, students are also supported by the Vision Science group.

There are many opportunities for giving to the Vision Science Program, and each fund supports graduate student education and training. Recently, the faculty, alumni, and friends of  Vision Science developed three fellowship funds to support graduate students. We encourage you to partner with us in giving to the Russell DeValois, Larry Stark, and Theodore Cohn Vision Science Fellowship Funds.

Announcing Our All New Alumni Directory

In an effort to bring alumni from around the globe back together, the University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry is proud to announce the publication of an all-new Alumni Directory.

Scheduled for release in late 2008, our Alumni Directory will be the most up-to-date and complete reference to more than 3,000 Optometry and Vision Science grads ever compiled! This comprehensive volume will include current name, academic information, as well as business, professional, residential, and family information.

The new 2008 edition will also list alumni by class year, geographic location, and areas of optometry specialty.

We have chosen Harris Connect to produce our directory. In February, Harris will begin researching and compiling the data to be included in the directory by mailing a questionnaire to each alumnus/a. Please be sure to fill it out and return it as soon as you receive it. (If we do not have your current address, please contact the Office of External Relations and Professional Affairs as soon as possible so we can make sure you receive a directory questionnaire).

With your participation, the 2008 edition of the Alumni Directory is sure to be a great success!
